Having rowed the Trade Winds route this year, James has decided his next challenge will be to tackle the Indian Ocean. A good team member, this highly thought of maths teacher is looking forward to spending his ‘summer holidays’ punishing his body on this 5000 mile row, he is a keen endurance athlete!
Also on the Trade Winds Expedition 2013, Tim was 2nd Stroke and had already had lots of rowing experience. The ocean conditions were very different from rivers and in spite of carrying an injury, Tim doggedly carried on regardless showing great strength of character, an attribute to be admired.
This Icelandic rower already hold two ocean rowing records, he rowed the ‘Trade Winds’ route as a team member of the successful Sara G expedition skippered by Matt Craughwell in 2011. Not only is Fiann an adventurer and sportsman, he is also an extremely talented photographer.
Simon, 21, lives in West Sussex. He has just finished a degree in agriculture management at the royal agricultural college. Keen rugby player, cricketer and cyclist having cycled 1,200 miles from the South of France to Sussex. Very much looking forward to the challenge.
